Taking No Calls from This Point On, As We’re Celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday
…in time honored casa de major dad fashion ~ watching a CLASSIC.
“All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal’s a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps!“
Our sentiments exactly. Sweet dreams, y’all.
And Semper Fi.
Okay, what movie? Aliens?
Well, BRAVO, Skyler!! Got it on the first try!
(It was that or “Full Metal Jacket” and, since we couldn’t find it, the time honored holiday fare won.)
I thought Aliens was the Thanksgiving movie???
Gosh, tough movie title to guess…since it’s the only damn movie they own.
“Alien” is the Thanksgiving Day movie Kruella and as for you Bing see we have more than one; Alien, Aliens, Alien³, so there.
Aliens was, by far, the best of the series.
“You were always an a$$hole, Gorman”.
Then, the grenade.
My favorite scene.
Agree comPLETELY, Rob. Favoritest one of the bunch by far. (The fourth **shudder** rates Voldemort status.)
I have to disagree Rob, while Aliens is the more action packed, Alien is my pick as the best because it was the first and it by far is the handsdown scariest. When I saw it the first time in 79 on the big screen I don’t know how many times the packed house screamed and jumped out of their seats. I think it was Newsweek that said at the time, “this movie will scare the peanuts out of your M & Ms.” They were right.
There were good moments in the first one, Major, but I found the intensity in the second one to be wall-to-wall. I was thoroughly drained after seeing it. It had better and more memorable dialogue, too. 🙂
I stand corrected, major dad.
You could’ve done it sitting, Bingley. We don’t stand on ceremony around here, you know. Or you should.
“Awright, dismiss. Not you, Hudson. Come here. COME. HERE.”
