Yeah, well, get used to it. This will increasingly become a flahpoint on the world stage.

Just to make you feel better. Iran, the Norks and Venezuela are almost inbred cousins at this point. If the Hugonut down there ever sells his Citgo stations better batten down the hatches. Any subtantial threat of war between the North and South might draw fleet assets from the region, or prevent reinforcements from entering the region, making it easier for them to sink a few ships in the Stait. Venezuela could then cut supplies to the US and we could go into a depression.

Of course under a Ron Paul presidency we wouldn’t have any ships in the region so it’s all good.

    Y’all have a nice day.

Yojimbo, Petróleos de Venezuela is going the way of Petróleos Mexicanos – but they’re doing it at warp speed. The only question is whether PDVSA or Chavez is going to be buried first.

  3. Yojimbo says:

Yes, the wonders of socialism present themselves anew. Hugo is starting to make overtures to American oil to comeback in and reconsitute the program. Even if this doesn’t take place, just the psycholical double whammy might send us over the edge. Too many people trying to get through an increasingly small door gets us to $200 oil in a NY minute no matter what the actual stats say.

  4. Yojimbo says:

“psycholical”? I have no idea what that means either.
    I’ll take another senior’s exemption.

We’d be insulated from that sort of shock if we had the Keystone Pipeline, but since Hawaii BO has already written off working-class voters we can probably forget that.

  6. Yojimbo says:

Yes,he has probably written off 50% of the traditional blue collar private unions. He probably figures that the union goons can delilver half because that is where the “Yellow Dog” Democrats usually reside.

He is laying his hopes on the public unions like AFSCME and the teacher unions along with vrony industries like health care.

We will need both houses of Congress along with a strong president to pound our way into energy development and production in all of its various arrays.
