If you’re interested in Egypt coverage, Al Jazeera English
has a livestream

As Geraghty pointed out immediately afterward:

RT @BreakingNews: State security enters building where Al Jazeera’s Cairo bureau is housed | But remember, Mubarak’s not a dictator!

The pictures are excellent and streaming without interruption…so far. They’ve lit an APC carrier on fire and are rocking, trying to dump it in the Nile.

Man. I wish I felt like someone in Washington had a handle on anything, on any aspect of what’s happening. We’re so screwed with this bunch of amateurs.

They’re saying Mubarak is due to speak soon on Egyptian television.

UPDATE: The ruling party building is ablaze, and it’s explosions and gunfire on the street outside Aljazeera. From Dan Reihl’s Twitter feed, I guess other people are getting twitchy…

UPDATE: From work, watching Cavuto and filed under, “oh, great”: a prediction of $200 a barrel oil post haste from his industry expert, if this doesn’t settle out immediately.

Makes sense, doesn’t it? Egypt next to the Suez Canal, Suez Canal borders Saudi Arabia, etc., etc.

And wise President GreenPeace let our deepwater wells drift off, never to return?

What’s all the fuss about anyway? The gravitas president has Joe Biden right there with him. If worse comes to worse he can always dispatch our next Secretary of State John Kerry, President Carter or NASA. In fact, it might be a good idea to get President Carter into our embassy over there as soon as possible. I mean the smart people have landed and the situation is well in hand here.

Instead you might want to focus on some really important stuff. Our local news spent three or four minutes last night talking about the murder of some Nigerian AIDS worker and no, as in zip, zero and nada time talking about the fact that a book memorializing a bunch of ‘splodies was found just over our border. I only mention this because these are trained professionals that have an eye for what’s important.

The head of the Energy Department in the Gravitas Administration stated that he would like to get gas prices up to european levels as quickly as possible. I don’t know what these people have against hard working Americans, but there you go.

Far be it from me that I should question an opinion of an expert but that $200 stuff seems almost hysterical to me. Very hard to close the Suez. Now if the Strait of Hormuz gets closed or we lose Nigeria then you’re talking real big trouble, real big trouble.

    For Teh Won™, that’s a feature, not a bug.
