   Too bad for Barry. I guess simply not bursting into flames the first time he set foot in the Vatican wasn’t impressive enough for the College of Cardinals.

   What Ave said. A LOT of South America is Catholic. And it’s about time the Catholic Church looked outside of Europe. Serious. The last non-European pope was Pope St. Gregory III – a Syrian – who was pope from 731 to 741 A.D. There were a few others before then – but NOT since.

   I think they wanted status quo; and I think (hope) they may not get it with this one.
