I’m wondering in the event anyone knows what Canada’s immigration specifications are. As an previous fart, I probably don’t develop the “skills” they want. They’ll clearly ensure I’m fleeing a failed country, looking for decent health care.

“As an previous fart”

Man, do I know that feeling.

CNN Poll: Those who say things going poorly higher than 1994 or 2006

Washington (CNN) — The number of Americans who say things are going badly in the country, at 75 percent, is higher than it has been on the eve of any midterm election since the question was first asked in the mid-1970s, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Monday also indicates that the economy remains, by far, the top issue on the minds of Americans. Fifty-two percent of people questioned say the economy’s the most important issue facing the country.

Just found that out today, did they?

Enemy Mine

And the sanctimonious asshat will have no clue what Boehner’s talking about, I’m sure. But I SURE am glad Boehner’s talking about it. EVERY SINGLE American needs to know what the President of the United States has said about them and their Constitutional RIGHT to disagree with His Righteous Annointed Imperial Smug Dudeness.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we have a president in the White House who referred to Americans who disagree with him as ‘our enemies.’ Think about that. He actually used that word. When Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush used the word ‘enemy,’ they reserved it for global terrorists and foreign dictators — enemies of the United States. Enemies of freedom. Enemies of our country.

Today, sadly, we have president who uses the word ‘enemy’ for fellow Americans — fellow citizens. He uses it for people who disagree with his agenda of bigger government — people speaking out for a smaller, more accountable government that respects freedom and allows small businesses to create jobs. Mr. President, there’s a word for people who have the audacity to speak up in defense of freedom, the Constitution, and the values of limited government that made our country great. We don’t call them ‘enemies.’ We call them ‘patriots.’”

A Warning To The GOP

The upsurge in the fortunes of the GOP this cycle are not because anyone is under the illusion that the GOP establishment is a bastion of fiscal sanity and governmental purity; we all remember the fiscal excesses the last time the GOP controlled Congress. The GOP has gained because the Democrats have made them look like timid amateurs in the blowout, expansive government department, and the People of America have woken up. As there is no credible Third Party as of yet the only counter to the arrogance and hubris that the party of “I Won” has displayed the past two years is to funnel energy and young, new candidates into the GOP to both win elections and to transform a compromised and fetid party structure that has, much like the Democratic National structure, become beholden to its own inertia and sense of entitlement, corrupted, as all human institutions eventually are, by and addicted to the heady reins of power and thus falling ever farther away from the principles and ideas so clearly stated in our Constitution, ideas which offered a reasoned and credible alternative to the Statist all-intrusive urban elitism of the Left.

People are not voting for the GOP.

They are voting against the government.

The GOP leadership needs to realize that cutting the rate of government growth is not going to suffice; we must cut the absolute size of government.

If in two years we do not see a smaller government on the horizon then the GOP will lose, and will deserve to lose, all of the support they are getting this year.

If the GOP goes back to its old ways and puts a guy like Jerry Lewis as head of the Appropriations Committee then that is a clear sign that the Party leadership has not heard the message the voters are sending.

As I’ve said several times this is a Six year cycle we are in: the elections of 2012 and 2014 are nearly as important as this one. We have this perhaps last chance to replace the House and Senate and get the government back under control over the course of this cycle. If the GOP leadership ignores the message being sent on Tuesday, these people must and will be replaced.

Vote Tuesday.

Vote, Remember, and hold their feet to the fire.

Our future depends on it.
